What are made for ads sites ?

Made for ads sites are designed for the sole purpose of displaying contextual ads from networks such AdSense, Yahoo Overture, AdBrite to name a few. Made for ads sites usually contain little or no original content. Most made for ads sites or MFA sites as some people call them, usually contain several articles from free article sources or a list of keywords at the bottom of the displayed page (sometimes cloaked) for the sole purpose of displaying targeted ads.

MFA strategy

By displaying nothing but ads above the fold visitors have little options they either click on ads thinking it is part of the sites content, click on ads hoping to find a better site or hit the back button on the web browser. MFA sites are normally not SEO friendly. Due to lack of content, duplicate or scraped content, cloaked keywords, immediate rejection from directories and no link love from other webmasters, webmasters building MFA sites use Pay Per Click advertising to gain profits.

MFA builders do their research properly. Careful keyword research from these webmasters help them find the lowest paying winning bids possible from keywords related to a particular niche or several niches helping their sites appear in contextual ads everywhere on the web. Have you ever clicked on an ad and found a web site the that says only best X sites for a particular niche for example, best 5 sites for green tea? There is a probability that this site has 5 ads blended to look like normal text links and if its true, chances are it is a MFA site. Not to say all best X sites are MFA but it was a common MFA archetype that was very common some time ago.

Made for ads sites and your AdSense earnings

The real secret of MFA sites is that by paying small amounts of money for their keywords in PPC campaigns they take visitors who click on their ads to a site where visitors click higher paying ads thus earning a profit.

I constructed a small chart so you can get a general idea on how MFAs profit out of web sites. Numbers represented in this chart are for educational purposes only and do not represent actual earnings.

Let’s say your visitors click on ads that point to a MFA site, their ads using cheap keywords earn you $0.02 a click. Supposing that all visitors fall for the trick they all click on high paying ads displayed in the MFA site which earns the webmaster $0.20 a click. After only fifty clicks the difference in earnings is worth considering:

Your earnings : $0.02 X 50 = $1.00

MFA site: $0.20 X 50 = $10.00

In order to avoid these web sites from affecting your AdSense earnings it’s very important to set up Adsense’s Competitive Ad Filter carefully since only 200 Urls are allowed to be blocked. Do not click your ads in curiosity. Ads Black List offers a list of such sites for free and their paid service is even better allowing you to make better research. Do not waste your Ad Filter spaces on sites that would not affect your earnings. It is better if you paste Urls from the black list in to your browser to see if those sites are still running. It takes time to take a look those sites one by one, but in the end, it may help you increase your earnings. Sounds like hard work but the truth is that Ads Black list has a search tool that helps filter out MFA sites in the list and provides you with the ones related to your niche. By blocking the right sites you raise your probability of high paying ads appearing on your web site.

Has the Competitive Ad Filter helped you in anyway?

The purpose of surveys

Surveys are one of the most effective research methods known to big name companies. Surveys help companies gather valuable information about important aspects on marketing, demographic targeting, expected demand and public opinion to name a few. With this information at hand products, services as well at marketing campaigns are further modified to be more appealing to a wider audience. Imagine the amount of losses that a company wold face by releasing a product that would be considered useless to their poorly targeted audience or worst yet a mass release of a product with a relatively low demand. This is one of the most important factors that force companied to offer money for the sole purpose of gathering data to ensure economic growth to their business.

Why online surveys?

There is almost a 100% chance that you have stumbled with someone asking you take a survey at a mall or other highly visited area. These people usually work for a company that offers survey services to marketing or publicity boards in companies. This is similar to what happens over the internet with the exception that instead of having someone approach you, e commerce companies are forced to pay for survey services online since hiring services that offer surveys in the the real world would not gather the correct information by for example, offering surveys on a mall. By hiring internet survey companies the e commerce sector outsource their data gathering work paying these companies a considerable amount of money.

Why do online surveys pay you?

Internet survey panels are faced with a new problem, having people take surveys online is a real pain. In order to complete their survey quota these surveys companies pay a share of their earnings to spark interest in people. What used to be considered boring or not interesting is now profitable. Strange how the small detail of getting payed for something makes it more fun. That is the main philosophy behind paying people to take surveys a proven and effective one.

How much money should I expect to earn from this?

It all depends on your efforts. You can earn from a few pennies to a few hundred bucks and even more if you work hard enough. Sure paid surveys won’t make you rich but if you need a few extra bucks with out having to build a web site or having to pay for risky pay per click marketing then paid surveys are for you. You can sign up the the offer below it is one of the highest paying paid survey services around.

Any experiences with paid surveys? Share you results.

The key to blending AdSense with content is matching your AdSense ads and web site template in terms of color. Google is very strict when it comes to how much you can blend your ads with you website. Ads are not allowed to look like regular links nor they can be modified so they would not display the Ads by Google logo. Te only viable options are making your ads look nice inside your web site in therms of colors and corner styles. Ads that differ drastically in colors from your website will increase ad blindness. So choose your palette carefully. Do not label your ads anything but Sponsored Links and do not try to make them appear like they are content. If you have a color palette that matches your web site nicely Ad unit placement is more of an issue and and can determine much of your CTR yet it works harmonically with your color matched ads. With the options Google provides you can create nice combinations just experiment with them and you will obtain your killer combination.

We have seen it before, we have read about and thousands of times and the question keeps popping up. Lets face it, is very hard to come up with ideas to write content if you really don’t like what you are writing about. This little fact can get your efforts a little closer to failure. Sure you can create a successful web site but I can almost guarantee it will be more troublesome. Loosing the fun factor in activities is one of the main reasons why people quit doing what they do. In this post I will change the question a little to: Which is the most profitable niche for you? Here are some tips to help choose the most profitable niche for you.

Make a list

Grab something to write with and a piece of paper and make a list of topics you like. This includes activities, interests, stuff you would like to: learn, (learning something you always wanted is a rewarding experience), read, write, talk, dream and even complaint about. Try to make a nice list you don’t have to finish it the same day. Keep your list handy for a few days. Daily activities can remind you of overlooked niche ideas.

Prioritize

If you kept you list for a few days your list is bound to be extensive if not, have at least fifteen or more topics. Shorten your niche list by picking your top favorite topics. Do not discard your remaining topics as possible profitable niches .

Search for affiliate programs

Use search engines to find affiliate programs related to your top five picks. Do careful researching and make a check mark on topics that you can find related affiliate programs for. Make an additional check mark if the topic with the most affiliate programs. Having options is really important, especially if one of the programs in not performing as expected.

Make keyword research

Use keyword research tools like Google’s AdWords Keyword Suggestion Tool (remember to login) to get a general idea on how much people are paying for clicks related to your niche. Again mark the topic with the highest paying keywords. This step can help you get a glimpse of how AdSense and other similar programs would pay for any clicks you get from visitors. Note: Prices on keywords displayed in these tools are not what you earn from them but how much advertisers are bidding from them. As an affiliate you earn a percentage from Google’s earnings on clicks.

Determine traffic

Analyzing search engine queries for your niches is very important. The more search engine queries the more potential traffic to your web site you can use Word Tracker’s free keyword tool to help you decide if a niche has potential or not. Write a general keyword usually the main topic and mark in your list the one with highest total search results but this time with two check marks.

Choose your niche

Count check marks for each niche and determine which is the best niche or you. Don’t discard the top five list keep it in consideration when making other sites. You can repeat the process with the remaining niches from your first list. Don’t be surprised to find very profitable niches in these.

I hope this little method can help a little making decisions. Any suggestions, comments and personal experiences?
